Clare Minchington

ClareMinchington.JPG Clare has extensive executive and non-executive director experience in professional education, regulation and governance in membership bodies, government, charities and the university sector.

Her most recent appointments include:

  • Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee for the Government Internal Audit Agency
  • Independent Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for the Institute of Physics and
  • Senior Council Member and Chair of the Remuneration Committee for the General Optical Council

Before moving to non-executive roles, Clare spent 15 years with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), rising to Executive Director for Strategy and Development, responsible for ACCA’s strategy, brand, policy and qualifications. She originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse and, prior to joining ACCA, held academic positions at Manchester Metropolitan University and the Open University Business School.

As a non-executive she has previously served as Chair of the Academic Council for BPP University, Senior Independent Board Member and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for the College of Policing and Trustee and Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee of the Terrence Higgins Trust.
