Natalie Whyte is a dedicated advocate for perinatal services, deeply committed to enhancing maternity care. She currently attends members’ meetings of the National Maternity Voices Partnership Council and has also served as the Service User Voice Representative for the Midlands for two years. In this role, Natalie has significantly influenced strategic decisions and built strong connections with Maternity Voices Partnerships within the Midlands.

Also, during this time Natalie was a part of the East and West Midlands Maternal Medicine Network and the Regional Induction of Labour Framework Steering Group, where she represented service users and co-produced various projects. Her work extends internationally, where she has collaborated on published research to improve maternity services globally.

Natalie is actively involved with her work at universities in England and Scotland to enhance maternity care and emphasising the importance of amplifying the service user voice. Natalie also sits on the East and West Clinical Senate to make improvements and recommendations to NHS systems within the UK.

As former Co-Chair of the Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland Maternity Voices Partnership, Natalie brought a profound understanding of the importance of listening to those who use perinatal services.

Natalie's passion for perinatal and all aspects of pregnancy is both personal and professional.

Her involvement with the Maternity Voices Partnership began after experiencing a stillbirth at 34 weeks pregnant in 2017. This traumatic event motivated her to drive meaningful change within maternity services. As an advocate and educator, Natalie has focused on addressing the stigma surrounding stillbirth within the global majority.

Throughout her career, Natalie has had the privilege of working within systems where she can directly influence decisions on behalf of service users. She lives by the motto:

"I have lived it, breathed it, and now I am giving back.

"As we strive together to make maternity and neonatal services greater in the Midlands and beyond."
