As a UK wide regulator we are committed to developing and maintaining strong links across the four countries and an appreciation of the diverse political, service delivery and workforce planning contexts which our registrants work in. This is because much of health and care professional regulation is the responsibility of the UK government, while health and care policy and funding are devolved to Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Within some regions in England there is also devolution of health and social care, with new care structures across England promoting local decision making which creates local variation.

As outlined in our strategy we are committed to developing a more systematic and targeted approach to stakeholder engagement across the four countries and develop a stronger and more meaningful relationships with our partners across all four countries. To do this we have identified a lead director and internal multi-disciplinary country working groups for each of the four UK countries to strengthen relationships, visibility and partnership working.
