Andrea Sutcliffe CBE, Chief Executive and Registrar, and Emma Broadbent, Director of Professional Regulation, for the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) have won the Equality & Inclusion Senior Champion 2020 at the annual Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion (enei) Awards.

The enei Awards recognise and commend organisations that have taken a lead in challenging discrimination and celebrating their diverse workforce. The Senior Champion award recognises ambassadors who have made a significant contribution to improving the culture within their workplace, acting as role models for equality & inclusion and championing diversity.

Andrea and Emma are both pleasantly surprised to have been awarded Senior Champions 2020. Commenting on their win, they said:

“We feel very honoured – firstly to be nominated by our team and secondly to receive an award that reflects the achievements of the NMC’s work on equality and celebrating diversity in both our work place and in the wider nursing and midwifery workforce.

“We’ve certainly not cracked it and there will always be so much more to do, but we’re absolutely determined to use our influence to ensure equality, diversity and inclusion is very visibly at the heart of everything we do.”
