NMC celebrates International Nurses Day 2024
Published on 12 May 2024
Today we’re celebrating all the nursing professionals and students across the UK dedicated to providing safe, kind and effective care, for the benefit of the public.
Sam Foster, Executive Nurse Director of Professional Practice, said:
“As a registered nurse, it’s inspiring that nursing professionals make up around one in 10 people in the UK who've committed to improving people’s health and wellbeing. Nurses and nursing associates make a positive difference throughout health and social care, touching the lives of many in need of care and supporting those around them.
“International Nurses Day is a chance for everyone to celebrate the amazing impact of nursing - whether you work in a hospital, in social care, in the community, in public health, or in education – people in all walks of life benefit from your vital knowledge, skills and expertise.
“So, it’s only right that we say thank you to the nurses and nursing associates who work tirelessly every day to provide the safe, kind and effective person centred care that people deserve. Thank you to those who led the way first, inspiring today’s professionals. Thank you to our nursing educators for preparing our future generations. Thank you to our talented students committed to making a difference.”
